II. KNOW THE DATES
GENERAL
- November 8, 2022
Voter Registration Deadline
- October 18, 2022 - Deadline to register to vote online or by paper.
Ballot Request Deadlines:
- November 1, 2022 - Deadline to return an absentee ballot application by mail.
- November 4, 2022 - Deadline for military and overseas civilian voters to return applications to receive general election mail-in ballots by electronic means.
- November 7, 2022 at 3 p.m. - Deadline to return an absentee ballot application in person.
Ballot Return Deadlines:
- November 8, 2022 - Deadline to return a completed absentee ballot in person. Mail in absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date.
- November 14, 2022 - Deadline for county boards of election to receive an absentee ballot by mail (must be postmarked by November 8, 2022).
Registered voters in New Jersey who want to vote by absentee ballot this fall should submit an absentee ballot application to their local county clerk as early as possible.

IV. WHERE TO VOTE
Polling Location:
- School, firehouse or community center, use the New Jersey Voter Information Portal Polling Place Locator to find where to cast your ballot.

V. WHAT TO TAKE TO THE POLLS
Voter ID Laws:
- New Jersey requires identification if you did not provide identification when you registered.
Accepted Credentials:
- Here is the list of accepted credentials.
Don't have a valid ID?
- Once you have registered to vote, no further voter ID is required to vote in NJ except for some first time voters.
