My foremothers went on hunger strikes to earn the right to vote. As an homage to them I will always go and vote, and ESPECIALLY this year when there is so much at stake for our democracy. This year I am learning more about my sisters of color and how they were often left out of the rights earned by the suffragists even when they were working to further the cause for ALL women. I'm sharing what I learn with other white women to raise awareness.
